Which Handlebars features work?

Variables, #each, #if, #unless, #with, partials in a workspace, and the built-in helpers formatCurrency, formatDate, qr, pageNumber and totalPages.

Can I add my own helpers?

No. Templates run in a sandbox with a fixed set of helpers, so they can never run code on the server.

Why is a value blank?

The path in the template doesn’t match the JSON. In a workspace, a send with a missing required variable is rejected with a 422 that lists it.

Is this the same engine the API uses?

Yes. The tester renders with the same sandboxed Handlebars and helpers as every send.
